A PCR vehicle shifted the injured to the PGI where doctors declared them brought dead.

The victims have been identified as Mohammad Shanu (26) and Haider (28), both cousins and residents of Sector 29, and Sharukh (23), a resident of Sector 45. The victims were not wearing helmets. They were returning to Sector 29 from Mauli Jagran when the accident took place.

The police suspect some unknown vehicle sped away after hitting the motorcycle. The police have registered a case under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) at the IT Park police station.

The police said they were verifying the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. The autopsy of Shanu and Haider was conducted at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, and the bodies were handed over to the families. Meanwhile, Sharukh’s autopsy will be conducted on Monday.

Kin had arrived for wedding at Haider’s house

Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at 28-year-old Haider’s house in Sector 29 on Sunday. Haider was supposed to get married in two days.
