The third annual day, ‘Vasudhev Kutumbkam: The World is a family’, was organised at Vidya Valley School, New Sunny Enclave, Kharar. Students performed in a cultural programme and spread the message of peace and brotherhood. Dances of various countries — China, America, Australia, Arabia and Canada — were performed by students. Chief guest S Marriya, former Principal, DAV College, Chandigarh, appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them with his inspiring words. Dr Suman Lata, Principal, presented the annual report and congratulated the students, staff and parents on the auspicious occasion. Chairman Jaspal Singh, Deputy Director Simmerpreet Singh, Director Surinder Kaur gave away awards to students. The campus was filled with the fervour of celebration. Students’ fantastic performances and teachers’ efforts made the event a success.

DAV Public, CHANDIGARH

It was a proud moment for DAV Public School, Sector 8-C, as several students from Classes LKG to XII were felicitated and awarded with trophies and cash awards for their achievements in academics for the 2018-2019 session. In all, 29 students from Class X received trophies and certificates for securing 90 per cent and more. Cash prizes and certificates were given away to 13 students from Class XII .

St Xavier’s, Panchkula

Students of Classes VII and VIII of St Xavier’s High School, Panchkula, were shown motivational videos on ‘peer pressure’ and ‘bad company’. Children took a keen interest in short films followed by an interaction session with teachers who explained to them about the importance of good company. Teachers explained how peer pressure can affect their personality in a negative manner. Also, students were guided on how to deal with it.

The Knowledge Bus, Mohali

The Knowledge Bus Global School donated an LED to Government Primary School Behra, Dera Bassi. School principal Anisha Sahapathi said television could be used as a tool for learning in classrooms. TNS
