Woman found dead with head injuries

The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be in her mid-twenties, was found near Gillco Valley today. The woman, who appeared to be a migrant labourer, had injuries on her forehead and was found lying near a water tank at Gillco Valley, Kharar.

On a statement of Kirpal Singh Bajwa, a local resident, the Kharar City police have registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC in this connection.

CIA in-charge Satwant Singh Sidhu and DSP Gurdev Singh Dhaliwal reached the spot. A fingerprint team was also called. The police have found plastic glass and an empty bottle of liquor in the area. 

DSP Dhaliwal said they had not been able to gather any information about her so far. He said the postmortem report would reveal whether or not she was sexually assaulted.
