AMRITSAR: The administration will host the Amritsar Mini Marathon on February 24 to create awareness among people for coming forward to play a constructive role in the development of the city.

The administration will host the Amritsar Mini Marathon on February 24 to create awareness among people for coming forward to play a constructive role in the development of the city. The marathon will begin from Dasehra ground, Ranjit Avenue D-Block, at 6.30 am. The event, designed and executed under Komal Mittal, CEO Amritsar Smart City Ltd, is in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and private stakeholders.

The registration is currently being carried out through Whatsapp (9815214943) and also through a registration campaign being conducted by MY FM 94.3. On-the-spot registrations will also be there for the last-minute enthusiasts. Stakeholders of ASCL from residential welfare associations, market associations, NGOs, sports clubs, youth clubs have also been invited for participation. Mittal said the main feature of the event would be participation by special athletes. They will run below 1 km and winners will be awarded. Special athletes Sulekha Rana and Rekha Kashyap will represent the Special Olympic Bharat.

The top three participants crossing the finish line in both categories (Male & Female) will be awarded with cash prizes.—TNS
