Due to lack of job opportunities after completing his masters, Pawandeep Arora tuned towards his father’s beekeeping business in 2011. Since then, he has been making efforts to take it to a new level.

Pawandeep, who has done masters in Punjabi from Guru Nanak Dev University, polished his skills after getting training from Krishi Vigyan Kendra. At present, he takes part in exhibitions under the Khadi Board and Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Now, he is participating in the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) to make visitors apprised of his products.

“My father was into manufacturing of honey. He used to sell it to a company. But I have introduced packaging and I present it directly to customers,” said Pawandeep.

The 29-year-old has to present varieties of honey, including litchi honey, ajwain honey and berry honey, before his costumers. Besides, he sells natural honey regularly in the market under his brand Angel.

To create organic honey of different flavours, he takes his bees to fruit gardens. For litchi honey, he visits a garden of litchi flowers in Pathankot and for berry honey, he goes to Rajasthan. Besides, for his white Kashmir acacia, a type of flower, honey, he visits Kashmir.

“I take these bees for pollination to different gardens. Following a proper process, honey is formed. At times, people pay for pollination. These things are under specific arrangements,” he added.

“Since packing came into existence, it becomes better. Our honey is pure and it does not have any glucose or mixing. I keep visiting places in a year for making honey,” said Pawandeep.
