The department of computer science at Baba Farid College organised a competition on ‘debugging’ to promote programming skills among students and making soft tricks to find errors in programmes.

Students were asked to solve all types of errors with correct output of the programme in minimum time to win the competition. Debugging is the process of detecting and removing of existing and potential errors (also called as ‘bugs’) in a software code that can cause it to behave unexpectedly or crash. To prevent incorrect operation of a software or system, debugging is used to find and resolve bugs or defects. The event received a good response and 75 students from various departments participated in the competition.

There were two rounds of the event. In the final round, Ankit (BCA 2nd semester), Himanshu (BSc CSM 4th semester), Gurbir Kaur (MSc IT-2nd semester) got the first, second and third positions, respectively. All the winning students were given appreciation certificates. — TNS
