The district administration, in collaboration with Glamour and Bloom Boutique of Government ITI College (Girls), is organising Bathinda Haat on October 25 and 26 at Dunes Club.
Giving information here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Praneet and ADC (Development) Sakshi Sawhney said organic products would be available at the Bathinda Haat. Besides these, articles prepared by self-help groups, such as bed-sheets, ‘fulkaris’, embroidered suits and ‘sarees’ will also be available.
Keeping in view the forthcoming Karva Chauth festival, mehendi and nail art will also be available.
Youths who have got training in self-employment courses from State Bank of India’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute (R-SETI) will display ‘phulkaris’, ‘dupattas’, ‘phulkari baagh’, Croatia works and hands bags.
Five organic farmers will sell their organically grown products, including vegetables, honey, pulses, jaggery, rose water, mustard oil, flour, rice and other products.
Phool block’s Kaloke village and Phoolwala self-help groups will display items for home décor, handmade fans and durries.
Similarly, self-help groups from village Burj Singh Wala and Harnam Singh Wala will display hand-knitted sweaters and shawls.
Punjab Agro will also put up its organic products, such as maize dalia, wheat dalia, whole grain atta, basmati rice and maize atta on sale.
ADC Sakshi Sawhney appealed to the people to come to the mela.
