Three unidentified miscreants attacked a vegetable trader and commission agent and looted his bag containing Rs 40,000 at the Multania flyover on Thursday around 4 am. The victim was going to the vegetable market after giving food to birds.

After getting the information, the Kotwali police team reached the spot and started a probe into this incident after recording the statement of the victim commission agent.

It is learnt that miscreants rushed towards Thandi Sadak after getting down from the flyover. Though there is a PCR point near the flyover, at that time there was no policemen present there.

As per his daily routine, this morning when he was going to give food to birds on the Multania flyover, a car came from his rear and rammed into his two-wheeler, leading to his losing control of the scooter and felling down on the road.

Three unidentified persons came out of the car with sharp-edged weapons in their hands. They snatched a bag containing Rs 40,000 and a mobile phone in it and ran away from the spot. He said he immediately informed the police and his relatives about this incident.

Kotwali police station Station House Officer Inspector Davinder Singh said the miscreants’ car had been caught on CCTV cameras and they had taken footage into their custody. They were checking the number of the car and on the basis of the car number they would try to nab the accused involved in this incident.
