2 booked for raping minors

Patiala, October 16

The local police have booked two persons for allegedly raping two minors in separate cases.

In the first case, the police said accused Mandeep Singh took the victim to his house in Sural Khurd village in Rajpura and raped her there. 

A case under Sections 376 (rape), 458 (house-trespass or house-breaking), 506 (criminal intimidation), 363 (kidnapping), 366-A (procuration of minor girl) of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act has been registered.

In another case, the police said accused Sumit had sexually assaulted the victim at Hira Bagh in March. The police said the accused was the brother of the complainant’s friend. They said the accused had behaved inappropriately with the woman, assaulted her and threatened to kill her.

A case was registered under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman), 354-A (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. — TNS
