Sleuths of the Punjab State Special Operation Cell claimed to have arrested another henchman of gangster Dilpreet Singh Baba.
The accused, identified as Vipin Kumar (30), a resident of Makhnu Majra village in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, was arrested in Nalagarh. According to AIG Varinder Paul Singh, State Special Operation Cell, the accused was a henchman of Baba and used to extort money from local traders and businessmen on his behalf. “He had extorted around Rs 6.50 lakh as protection money from local businessmen, who were threatened by Baba,” said the AIG.
Vipin had come in contact with Baba through Guggu, who was lodged in jail with the gangster. The police said Vipin, an MBA, was into property business. Earlier, the police had arrested Dilpreet Singh and his accomplices Rupinder Kaur, Harpreet Kaur and Arun Kumar. After booking Vipin Kumar in the case, the police would produce him before a local court. —TNS
