Aryaman Singh scored a dazzling 94 off 73 balls to help Vivek High School (Mohali) defeat Chitkara International School (Sector 25) by 85 runs in the 15th Molly Carver U-16 Cricket Tournament at St Stephen's School (Sector 45) today.
Batting first, the Vivek High lads posted 191/4 in 25 overs. Aryaman's innings was studded with six boundaries and three sixes. Abhay Pratap Singh was the other notable scorer for the side as he contributed an unbeaten 58 to the total. Dhruv (3/43) was the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, the Chitkara lads were bowled out for 106 runs in 21 overs. Dhruv scored an unbeaten 33 runs while Sartaj (14) and Nitesh (9) were the other main contributors in the chase. However, despite their efforts, their team suffered a 85-run defeat. Yuvraj Singh (3/15) was the main wicket-taker for the winners, while Gurtej Singh (2/8) and Abhiraj Singh (1/8) were the other top performers with the ball. In the second match, Saupin's School (Sector 32) defeated Mount Carmel School (Sector 47) by five wickets.
