Three snatching incidents were reported in the city on Wednesday.
Sources said a pedestrian escaped after snatching a purse from Sunita, a resident of Colony No 4, Industrial Area, Phase 1. The complainant stated that the accused, seemingly 15-years-old, targeted her near her house. Sources said the purse contained a gold mangal sutra and Rs 500 in cash.
Another snatching was reported around 6.30 pm in Sector 46. Sources said a miscreant, riding a black Pulsar, sped away after snatching a purse from a woman near gurdwara. The police were informed about the incident.
In yet another incident, which took place on Monday, Hari Dawar of Dhanas village lost his mobile phone to motorcycle-borne snatchers near UCO Bank, Dhanas. The police have registered a case in this regard.
