Hit by bike, 85-yr-old pedestrian dies

CHANDIGARH: An 85-year-old pedestrian died when a motorcycle hit him at Pipli Wala town at Mani Majra here on Friday.



Chandigarh, December 8

An 85-year-old pedestrian died when a motorcycle hit him at Pipli Wala town at Mani Majra here on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Khushi Ram, a resident of Mani Majra.

Khushi Ram had got injured in the mishap and was taken to the Civil Hospital, Mani Majra, where he died. The victim had reportedly given a statement to the police at the hospital.

The biker, who has been identified as Kapil Thakur of Jaihar village in Himachal Pradesh, also sustained minor injuries in the mishap and was admitted to the GMCH-32.

On the complaint of Satish Kumar, the victim’s grandson, a case has been registered against Thakur at the Mani Majra police station. — TNS
