Man booked for selling fake ghee

ZIRAKPUR:The police here on Thursday booked a person for manufacturing and selling fake Verka ghee.



Zirakpur, December 6

The police here on Thursday booked a person for manufacturing and selling fake Verka ghee. The suspect has been identified as Ashok Kumar, a resident of Bathinda.

The police said Purshottam Kumar, deputy manager at Verka milk plant in Bathinda, had alleged that he, along with Sanjeev Kumar and Abhinav Vats, manager and deputy manager, Marketing, had come to Zirakpur here on Thursday.

The complainant told the police that he came to know that Kumar used to prepare fake ghee and sell it under the label of Verka brand in the nearby areas here. The police have registered a case under Sections 420, 272 and 34 of the IPC against Kumar. — OC
