UT Employees registered a 69-run win over Irrigation XI in a Tricity Premier League match here on Tuesday.
Batting first, UT Employees led by Piyush Sharma’s whirlwind 51-ball 112 scored 199/8 in 20 overs. Bnawat added a quick-fire 50 to the total.
For Irrigation XI, Anil, Manoj and Prashant claimed two wickets each.
Needing to score nearly 10 runs per over for victory, Irrigation XI were all out for 130 runs in 16 overs. Sanjay returned with a five-wicket haul for UT Employees, while Piyush bagged two wickets. Ramesh Pancha (27) and Manoj Mehta (21) made noticeable contributions to the chase.
In the second match, AU Bank defeated IB XI by 38 runs. Electing to bat, AU Bank scored 195/1 in 20. Navjot hammered a 73, while Praveen made 61 runs. Shivaz Malik chipped in with 51 runs.
Inderjeet Singh took the lone wicket to fall in the bankers’ innings.
In reply, IB XI could only manage 159/7 in the allotted overs. Inderjeet (64) did the bulk of scoring for the side. Gautam Rajput scored a brisk 32, while Satnam Singh contributed 24 runs to the chase.
Shubham Sharma claimed three wickets for the bankers, while Vikas accounted for two wickets.
