Chandigarh, December 6

Impact Arts, presented Punjabi play ‘Mitti da Bawa’ on the second day of drama festival — ‘Asees’ — at Randhawa Auditorium here on Thursday.

Written by acclaimed theatre personality Dr Pali Bhupinder, the play titled ‘Mitti da Bawa’ depicted pangs, pain and lacerated wounds caused by 1947 Partition, with subsequent catastrophe suffered by innocent people. The play was directed by Navdeep Bajwa and Vivek Roy Khanna. It brought into focus how the political considerations uprooted and devastated humanity. The play depicted that despite the differences at the government level, denizens of undivided India still share a bond of mutual love. — OC
