Residents face water shortage

Chandigarh: Residents of the city continued to face a water crisis for the second consecutive day on Tuesday due to the work at the Kajauli waterworks to bring in additional water.

Chandigarh: Residents of the  city continued  to face a water crisis for the  second consecutive day on Tuesday due to the work at the Kajauli  waterworks to bring in additional  water. Though the MC started the supply in the  morning, due  to low pressure,  those living on the first and second floors faced problems. Water tankers were pressed into service in many sectors of the city. Isha, a resident of Sector 32,   said the water pressure was very low, both in the morning and evening,  and the supply was stopped much earlier than the scheduled  time. An official said the MC completed the ongoing work at Kajauli, but it would take time to supply water at full pressure. To ensure that no inconvenience was caused to the residents, the supply would also be provided through tankers on February 20, in addition to the water supply from the waterworks, the official said.
