CHANDIGARH: A theft of gold jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh was reported by a resident of Sector 15 here on Saturday.

Chandigarh, August 11

A theft of gold jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh was reported by a resident of Sector 15 here on Saturday.

The police said the theft allegedly took place earlier but was discovered on Saturday morning. There were no signs of a break-in as all the locks were intact.

Moreover, the cash lying at home was also not touched, informed the police.

The complainant, Gaurav Chhatwala, who is into hardware business, refused to speak to the media in the morning saying that he would not file a police complaint, he later did so.

An FIR under Section 380 of the IPC was registered at the Sector 11 police station. Chhatwal reported that unknown person stole a diamond necklace, bangles, chain etc from his house.
