Politics over managing and securing the funds of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is getting intense. Former DSGMC president Paramjit Singh Sarna today alleged the coffers of the committee are empty and asked the present incumbent Manjinder Singh Sirsa to answer for the missing funds.

Sirsa, on his part, responded saying Manjit Singh GK, who was President from 2013 to early 2019, was to blame for the empty coffers. “I took over as president of the committee only in first half of 2019 and inherited only Rs 10 lakh in the coffers from Manjit Singh GK, the Sarna brothers should pose this question to Manjit Singh GK”.

GK countered this saying “let Sirsa prove that I left only Rs 10 lakh in the kitty. Truth will come out”.

The Sarna brothers — Paramjit Singh and Harvinder Singh — addressed a press conference today saying the DSGMC had Rs 123 crore in the coffers by way of fixed deposits and cash at the end of their tenure in 2013.

GK who took over from PS Sarna said: “Yes they ( Sarna) had left about Rs 100 crore but I had a liability of the 6th Pay Commission salaries to be paid to employees and teachers of the DSGMC schools, besides the funding for the hospital. Each penny is accounted for.” Also during the same period, Sirsa was general secretary of the DSGMC in my team and the entire management took the decisions, GK said.

Sirsa has questioned Manjit Singh GK saying “let him prove that he left the DSGMC with Rs 100 crore at the end of his tenure in early 2019”. The executive committee of the DSGMC passed resolution a few days ago seeking a recovery of Rs 5 crore from GK.

GK had a fallout with the Shiromani Akali Dal. He resigned from the SAD and DSGMC and formed his owned party.

Manjit Singh GK says Sirsa should resign. “I resigned when allegation were made”. Neither Sirsa nor the Sarna brothers are judges, my matter is in court it will be decided there, he said.
