New Delhi, October 21

AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday launched the party’s four-month long door-to-door campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Delhi seeking votes and donations from the electorate in the city.

In course, Kejriwal led his party’s teams to the houses of voters and asked people not to “repeat” the mistake of 2014 and elect the AAP in all the seven parliamentary seats reminding people of metro fare hike and sealing drive that hit the common man's monthly budget since last year.

“We will tell the people that don’t be misled by the false narrative of who will be the Prime Minister and keep the 2014 experience in mind. You elected BJP MPs on all seven seats and what did you get in return? Did these seven MPs do anything? Is there a single work done by them that you can recall?” Kejriwal asked.

The AAP chief accused the seven MPs of just obstructing through their central government appointed LG the pro-people steps, such as installation of CCTVs and setting-up of mohalla clinics, being taken by the Delhi government.

Similarly, his cabinet colleagues, MPs and MLAs led the campaign in their respective constituencies.

“We are launching the door-to-door campaign in Delhi from today. For the next four months, our three thousand teams will knock on every door to seek their cooperation and financial support for their own Aam Aadmi Party,” Delhi CM said claiming people of the capital are very happy with the work of Delhi government, particularly in the fields of education, health, electricity and water.

What Delhi requires today is that it should elect all the seven MPs who will support and strengthen your elected government so that it can work with a greater speed for the people of Delhi, Kejriwal said noting that the elected seven MPs of AAP will get the works of Delhi done from the next Prime Minister irrespective of the party he belongs, he added.

In a swipe at the BJP and the Congress, Kejriwal claimed that his party contests elections on funds collected from the common man and not the corporates.

He said the concept behind the door-to-door campaign is to honour the voters by reaching them directly and taking a feedback about the government functioning and also the party, which helps in seeking their cooperation for the future.
