After being stunned by the work of city-based young filmmakers, who were in the recent past awarded in the recently concluded Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, a Los Angeles-based Indian producer, Varun Sharma, has decided to collaborate with these youths to produce a narrative series, ‘Nasha’. The series will be based on drug abuse among teenagers in Punjab.

The team of the filmmakers include Binnit Diwan, Shubham Verma and Nikhil Singh Jamwal. They had created the national award winning short film, ‘Aate di Chiri’. They will be taking care of creative aspects of the film and Verma will focus on production aspects.

Verma said: “Nasha is the first virtual reality content in the history of the Indian cinema and can be seen with the help of virtual reality rigs and ‘360 view’ on smartphones. It will be shot on a rig, ‘Ozo’. The project is set for production in November. “It was important to use our skills to help the community in any manner and spread awareness to make our society better,” he added.
