Ludhiana, May 21

For promoting peace and communal harmony, Anti-Terrorism Day was observed in the district today. On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, an oath was administered to the staff during a function at Bachat Bhawan, here today.

A large gathering of district administration officials pledged to fight against all forms of terrorism.

May 21 is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day to wean away the youth from terrorism and show how it is prejudicial to the national interest.

A function was also organised at the Civil Surgeon’s office, where Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinderpal Singh Sidhu administered the oath to the staff.

Khanna police take oath

Anti-Terrorism Day was observed at the SSP’s office, Khanna. Police officials took oath against terrorism and vowed to defend the country.

The oath was administrated to policemen by Khanna SP (H) Balwinder Singh Bhikhi. He said a number of innocent persons were killed by terrorists and brave officials of the Punjab Police sacrificed their lives to root out terrorism.

He called upon the jawans to safeguard the path shown by martyrs of the police force. Khanna SP (Narcotics) Mukesh Kumar, DSP (I) Hans Raj and other police officials were present on the occasion.
