Biker held with Rs20-cr heroin

The police have seized 4 kg of heroin worth about Rs 20 crore and arrested a biker, identified as Manpreet Singh of Hansa village, near Goindwal, in Tarn Tarn district.

Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said a party of Khanna police district in collaboration with the Doraha police set up a naka near the first aid post at Doraha on Sunday morning. The police signalled a biker coming from the Ludhiana side to stop. He tried to escape but was overpowered. The police found four packets of heroin (1 kg each) from his backpack.

The SSP said the value of the heroin was stated to be Rs 20 crore on the international market. The police officials said they were yet to confirm the source of the drug.

Meanwhile, SP Jasvir Singh and DSP (I) JS Cheema were also present at the press conference.
