New Delhi, January 18

The police busted an international narcotics syndicate by arresting its two key players — Pannalal (38), a resident of Dehradun, and a Nigerian national, Ema (24), said a police official.

Around 6 kg of heroin (worth Rs 24 crore in international market) and two mobile handsets with SIM cards used in trafficking have been seized from their possession.

A team of Special Cell was working on information that an international narcotics cartel is active in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi and adjoining areas.

Members of this cartel were involved in getting supply of heroin from Rajasthan and also from foreign nationals coming to India. This information was further developed through human surveillance and intelligence. — TNS
