Why did you go back to your hometown, Ludhiana, from Mumbai?

In 2017, my father faced losses in business and the situation went to bankruptcy, so I took a break and went to Ludhiana from Mumbai. It was a tough decision, but necessary.

How does it feel coming back to the industry after four years?

After four years my mind is relaxed and now since everything is good, I am open to acting again. The desire to be in front of the camera was always there, so I am looking out for the right role - be it daily soap or web series or a reality show.

What kind of roles are you looking for?

I love negative roles. You can give a good performance, you can try different things, but in positive role, you must keep doing one thing daily!

Did you miss acting during your break?

I missed it very much but in the last four years, I was so busy that I had to give all my time to my business. In between some offers came too, which I had to let go. I wanted to focus on one thing at a time.

How did you get your first break in acting?

My first break in acting was with Mukesh Khanna ji. It was for an advertisement. I got rejected many times before this. But it was a good experience for a newcomer.

Did you take any formal training in acting?

I did theatre for three-four years in Mumbai. The experience really helped me understand acting as a craft better.

You have done Punjabi films Aish Kar Lai, Ek Wari Haan Karde and Dramebaaz Kalakar. What’s your take on Punjabi cinema?

I did two Punjabi movies and shows till 2015. After that I got busy and was not able to pursue acting. Punjabi industry is quite big now, especially with so many music videos. The Punjabi entertainment industry is here to stay!
