World Health Day: From correcting sleep cycle to eating healthy, celebs do their bit to stay healthy

For more than a year we have been facing the biggest health hazard – Covid-19. But with Covid came the awareness for health. On World Health Day, today, as WHO (World Health Organization) proposes the theme, ‘Building a fairer, healthier world’, we ask celebs on what healthy habits they have adopted post the pandemic to contribute towards a healthier tomorrow

Sweet victory

Abhishek Banerjee

Rephrasing his famous dialogue from Paatal Lok in the context of World Health Day, Abhishek Banerjee says, ‘When a man loves his sweets, he is a Bengali, but if the man tries to give it up, he is a healthy man’. Sharing the details on his post-pandemic routine for a healthy body, he explains, “Last year when the pandemic forced us to stay inside our homes, it started with spoiling ourselves with binge-eating but eventually there was a gradual shift towards healthy meals and choosing fitness over unhealthy habits.”

Sleeping cycle

Surya Sharma

“Because of shoots the sleep cycle of an actor goes for a toss and after Covid when shooting halted, I made sure to correct my sleep routine. As far as pandemic health lessons are in question, Indians sure have upgraded in terms of hygiene standards, be it publicly or personally, for instance, people have stopped spitting in public place after eating gutkha.”

Small meals

Vijayendra Kumeria

I now have small portions of food five-six times instead of having three big meals. I eat everything but in limit. I follow a half-an-hour workout routine, it may be weight training, bodyweight exercise, or just a walk.

Jog your worries away

Prajwal Gupta

Physical activities are very important for me. Jogging, running, going for a walk after meals have become my habit now, it not only controls weight, but it reduces anxiety, depression and the risk of developing health conditions. It has helped me become active and productive.

Chia magic

Hasan Zaidi

I wake up and drink hot water with chia seeds. It’s very good for the skin and it detoxifies you. I make it a point to have omega3 and amla juice every day. I meditate and eat healthy.

Veg fare

Saurabh Kaushik

Health is true wealth. I eat good food in moderation because eating healthy is important. I avoid eating rice and fried stuff. I always prefer to eat roti, dal, and veggies as I am a pure vegetarian.

Disciple of discipline

Rohit Choudhary

To be healthy you need to lead a disciplined life. You should wake up early, eat on time, take out 30 minutes for yourself and do exercise or play any kind of sports. These two will keep you mentally and physically strong. I always promote health, sports, and exercise.

Mix and match

Prakhar Toshniwal

I follow two simple rules for myself—never overeat and never over think. Healthy living is just a matter of habit. You have to break a few bad ones and make better ones. The gym is good, but so are sports, yoga, dance, and so many other activities. I prefer to mix and match.

run for it

Sharad Malhotra

I work out in the gym regularly, but sometimes it when I am unable to do so because of my shoot I go for a run. I include a lot of greens in my diet and have plenty of fruits. I advise others to do the same.—TNS
