Former Minister of State for Home Affairs ID Swami died due to a heart ailment on Sunday afternoon. He was 90.

Swami passed away at 2.15 pm at the Metro Hospital in Faridabad. He had been hospitalized due to heart disease.

Swami’s wife Padma had died last week. He is survived by a son and three daughters.

Swami, a two-time parliamentarian from Karnal, was given the charge of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. To this day, he remains the only representative of Karnal to get a place the Union Ministry.
