GCG wins state-level quiz on geography

Ludhiana, March 14

The Postgraduate Department of Geography of SCD Government College, in collaboration with the Association of Punjab Geographers, organised a state-level quiz competition at Sahir Auditorium.

A total of five teams — Government College for Girls, Ludhiana; Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College, Anandpur Sahib; Doaba College, Jalandhar; Gurukashi College, Talwandi Sabo; and Khalsa College, Patiala.

Dharam Singh Sandhu, principal, SCD Government College, was the chief Guest on the occasion. He said such quiz contests were a great initiative to promote awareness about the subject among students. Harbans Singh, former head of the department, was the guest of honour.

Rita Agarwal, Mrigha Jain and Kajal from the Government College for Girls won the quiz. Lovepreet Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur and Harmandeep Kaur from Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College stood second while Deepika, Jatinder and Sukhderp Kaur from Doaba College bagged the third position. The winning team would represent Punjab in the forthcoming inter-state competition.
