The IndiGo flight from Chandigarh to Goa has received good response as more than 95 per cent seats have been booked for the first flight to the starting from February 20.

IndiGo Airlines manager Manish said till Saturday more than 150 seats had been booked for the first flight. He said they hoped to get the complete booking by Thursday. This will be the first daily non-stop flight between Chandigarh and Goa, he added.

As per the flight schedule, the 180-seater Indigo A-320 Airbus would be departing Chandigarh at 8:10 pm and will reach Goa at 11 pm. To return, the flight will depart from Goa at 11:25 pm to arrive at Chandigarh at 2:15 am with a travel time of 2:50 hours.

The introductory fare for the non-stop daily flight is Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 one way depending upon the time of booking. The operations of this flight will also justify the 24x7 operations of Chandigarh International Airport as the Goa flight will arrive at Chandigarh after midnight at 2:15 am. At present, the first flight reaches Chandigarh at 6:35 am and the last flight arrives at 10 pm.

Chandigarh also gets direct connectivity to holy city of Patna, the one of the Takht of Sikhism starting March 30. Indigo is going to operate 2 flights daily to Patna from Chandigarh. First flight 6E-6141 will arrive from Ahmedabad at 11:35 am and then depart for Patna (6E-6148) at 12:05 pm. The flight will depart on March 30.
