Ten students of a private school in Ballabgarh town in Faridabad district had to be hospitalised on Monday morning after a fellow student of eighth grade used a pepper spray in the class.

The students were rushed to a hospital by the school authorities.

ACP (Ballabgarh) Jaiveer Rathi, who visited the school and the hospital, said that all the affected students were stable and are likely to be discharged soon.

He said the matter was of ‘negligence’, as one of the students had brought the pepper spray in the classroom and sprayed it “for fun”.

No case has been lodged so far.

The school authorities called the parents of the student who had brought the spray.

The kin and parents of the students also reached the school and the hospital to know about the condition of their wards.
