A national seminar on ‘Empowering women through entrepreneurship’ was organised in New Delhi.



A day-long national seminar on Empowering women through entrepreneurship was organised on Wednesday by the Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Centre for Women's Studies, University of Jammu (JU) in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi. Prof Manoj K Dhar, JU Vice-Chancellor was the chief guest while Meeta Rajivlochan, NWC Member Secretary, was the guest of honour. It was followed by a panel discussion, wherein participants asked several questions to the panellists. A survey was also conducted among the participants to decipher the obstacles and possible solutions for the women entrepreneurship.

Senior PGT of Udhampur APS awarded

Naresh Kumar Dogra, senior PGT (commerce), Army Public School (APS), Udhampur, was honoured with the award for Academic Excellence by the Education Council of India (ECI) at its 32nd conclave during a ceremony at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, recently. Naresh Kumar Dogra has been working at the APS, Udhampur, since 1998. He is renowned for publication of UGC Journal "Shodh manthan" and also published sample test papers in accountancy for CBSE Class XII students.

Rich harvest Students bag medals

Abhirath Chambyal and Himadri Rana, students of Rich Harvest School, Shastri Nagar, bagged silver medals in the recently concluded 16th National Indian Teakwondo Federation (ITF) Taekwondo Championship held in Udaipur, Rajasthan. A 24-member team from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the sporting event. The team was led by coach Sachin Thakur.

Fruit Day celebrated at Push VATIKA

Pushp Vatika pre-school, Jeevan Nagar, on Wednesday celebrated Fruit Day on its premises. The whole wing was decorated with different fruits. Students participated in the activity with enthusiasm. Different types of fruits were displayed on the school ground. Students were also given knowledge of each and every fruit.

Doctoral fellowship for Scholar

Ishfaq Hamid, research scholar from school of economics (SoE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), has been awarded with Centrally administered full-term doctoral fellowship for 2019-20 from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi.He has been working in the field of political economy under the supervision of Dr Pabitra Kumar Jena, Assistant Professor, school of economics, SMVDU. Prof RK Sinha, SMVDU Vice-Chancellor and the faculty members have congratulated him and wished him success for future academic endeavour.
