Children of the candidates of the BJP and the Congress from the Gurugram parliamentary constituency comprising Gurugram, Rewari and Nuh districts have joined the poll campaign. Aarti Rao, daughter of BJP candidate Rao Inderjit, on Monday sought votes for her father in various villages of the Rewari Assembly segment while Chiranjeev Rao, son of Congress candidate Capt Ajay Yadav, toured the Bawal Assembly seat to garner support for his father.

Aarti addressed public meetings at Ramgarh, Bhagwanpur, Kharkada and Garhi Alawpur villages in Rewari. She spoke about development works undertaken in the region in the past five years.

She said that the BJP government had not only sanctioned an AIIMS in Manethi village but also launched other projects such as the expansion of the Rewari-Pataudi highway to six lanes and the connectivity of the Rewari-Narnaul road to the Jaipur highway while the work to electrify the Rewari-Delhi railway lines had already been completed.

“My father has been active in politics for the past 40 years. He has worked honestly not only to resolve the grievances of people but also to ensure the development of the region. There is no allegation of any sort against my father even after playing a long innings in politics,” said Aarti.

On the other hand, Chiranjeev addressed poll meetings at Nangal Teju, Khandola, Dharan, Bhadangi, Naichana and Sukhedi villages in the district. He appealed to the electors to teach a lesson to those who come to them only at the time of elections and go missing afterwards.

“The Gurguram parliamentary constituency has around 1,300 villages/ dhanis. My father has been working in the field for the past three years and has already covered 800 villages. I am seeking votes for him in remaining villages,” he said.
