Veteran Bollywood actress and MP from Mathura Hema Malini on Friday campaigned for BJP candidate and incumbent Education Minister Rambilas Sharma from Mahendragarh by addressing a poll rally at Devi Lal Park.

Malini said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken historical decisions for the betterment of the nation.

He abrogated Article 370 in Kashmir to root out terrorism and to usher in a new era of development there, she said.

India has been attaining fame at global level since Modi took over the reins as prime minister, she added.

“It is the Modi government which has worked to ensure welfare of every section of the society without any discrimination. Special efforts are being made to empower women by carrying out ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ (BBBP) mission and providing them facilities to get higher education for making their career bright,” said the actress.

She claimed considerable change had been witnessed across the nation in terms of development during the past five years.

“The Modi government stressed upon cleanliness to make India beautiful. It worked to root out corruption and to provide good governance. Even, PM Modi’s vision of development was being appreciated at international level,” she added.

She appealed to the people to vote in favour of the BJP in assembly elections slated for October 21 for the betterment of Haryana.

“I will come to Mahendragarh again to express your (people) gratitude if you ensure victory of Rambilas Sharma with a comfortable margin,” she said, adding that the BJP government was need of the hour for development of Haryana.

Union minister Arjun Singh Meghwal also lambasted the Congress stating that it did nothing for betterment of people during its two-stints while Modi government had been working with vision of overall development of every section of the society.
