DC distributes free sanitary pads to students

KAITHAL : Deputy Commissioner Dr Priyanka Soni yesterday launched a programme under the National Rural Livelihood Mission to distribute basic sanitary pads prepared by five women self-help groups to students in Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Siwan.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Priyanka Soni yesterday launched a programme under the National Rural Livelihood Mission to distribute basic sanitary pads prepared by five women self-help groups to students in Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Siwan.

Dr Priyanka, who is a qualified doctor, provided many health-related tips to students and also shared her views with girls about their future goals. She said, “Only if we keep good health that we can succeed in every field”.

She said that keeping in view the health of girl students, the programme of free distribution of basic sanitary pads had been launched. It would also help women working in self-help groups to earn their livelihood. She added that 27, 623 women were associated with 2,379 self-help groups in the district. OC
