Faridabad: The city’s annual budget of Rs 2,386.94 crore for 2019-20 financial year was passed by the Municipal Corporation Faridabad (MCF) here on Tuesday. It is 27.2 per cent higher than last year. In a meeting held here, the civic body resolved to pass the budget of Rs 2,386.94 crore, which is Rs 510.94 crore higher than the budget of Rs 1,876 crore last year. The taxes and licence fee are likely to contribute Rs 151 crore and Rs 340 crore respectively. The special grant from the state government will be Rs 82.8 crore. Admitting that while the budget would require a final approval from the state government, the authorities claimed that despite tight financial conditions, the MCF would be able to meet targets regarding the development works and maintenance of the ever-expanding civic infrastructure in the city.
