A youth was arrested allegedly for appearing in the Group-D examination being conducted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) in place of some other candidate in Tau Devi Lal College at Samalkha in the morning shift on Saturday. Around 27,000 candidates took the examinations in 72 centres established in various schools of the district.

The Samalkha police arrested Kuldeep, a resident of Nauganava village in Jhajjar district, from Tau Devi Lal College allegedly for trying to take the examination in place of Ravi Kumar, a resident of Khachrauli village in Jhajjar district. As Kuldeep was completing the formality to take the exam, the supervisor got suspicious, said Inspector Gurwinder Singh, SHO, Samalkha. The supervisor asked him a few questions but he failed to give satisfactory replies, he added.

Meanwhile, the district administration had arranged 40 extra buses for the candidates. Besides, members of various social organisations in the city had made free food and stay arrangements for them.

The police were well prepared to deal with traffic on the National Hoghway-44 in the city. The Railway authorities have provided two special trains on the appeal of Deputy Commissioner Sumedha Kataria for Saturday and Sunday.

Members of the Arya Samaj had made the arrangements of free food and night stay for the candidates at Sewah village. Besides, members of the Sikh Youth Federation had arranged a special tea langar for them near Government Sanskriti Model School near Red Light Chowk in the morning.

The Arya Samaj, Arya Yuva Samaj and the Rashtriya Arya Nirmatri Sabha in Model Town led by Om Prakash Dawar had also made arrangements to keep the valuables of the candidates.
