Hisar, October 29

The state government has recruited 258 drivers and conductors for plying Haryana Roadways buses from here. With this, 150 buses have started plying on designated routes, the authorities say.

The drivers and conductors have been recruited under the outsourcing policy.

The state government, meanwhile, has intensified its crackdown on leaders of employees’ unions, who have gone into hiding.

The police arrested roadways’ union leaders Ram Singh Bishnoi and Kuldeep Pabra on Sunday evening.

The roadways’ authorities issued a notice to employees to return to work, or else service break would be marked in their record. Officials said five employees on probation and 17 contractual ones of the local depot had been sacked. — TNS
