Gurugram: Rotary Public School, Gurugram, celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Headmistress Anju Talwar unfurled the Tricolour in the backdrop of the National Anthem. A cultural programme was held in which the students performed on the patriotic theme. Inter-house group song and group dances were performed by both primary and senior students. The headmistress made the students aware of the supreme sacrifice of freedom fighters and soldiers.

‘Patriotism’ theme at concert 

Ambala: SD Vidya School presented the annual class concert of grade Vth on “patriotism” theme on Tuesday. English play ‘The Queen of Jhansi’ and Hindi play ‘Azaadi ka Deewana’ were showcased on this occasion. Mime ‘Unity in Diversity’ and patriotic poem ‘Hum kuch kar dikhlayenge’, German dance, semi-classical Kathak dance ‘Ehsaas’, dance ‘Incredible India’ were also presented. Director Principal Neelinderjeet Kaur Sandhu, Coordinator Toddlers’ Wing Anuroop Jouhal and HoD maths SD College Dr Naveen Gulati were present on the occasion.

Rangoli-making contest held

Mahendragarh: The Department of Library Science and Information at Central University of Haryana (CUH) organised declamation, rangoli and poster-making competition on the university campus. Nancy got first place and Shikha and Saroj jointly stood second in rangoli-making. Gaurav, Nancy and Swati secured first, second and third positions respectively in poster-making competition. In declamation, Ankit grabbed the first position, Gaurav second and Swati remained on third position.

Four students on merit list

Karnal: Four students of MA political science (final) of Dyal Singh College have grabbed positions on the merit list of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. All four students are girls and belong to rural areas. Dr Chander Shekhar, Principal, along with the teachers of the department of political science Dr Pawan Kumar, Dr Anita Aggarwal, Dr Vijay Chauhan and Dr Amrit Kaur congratulated the students. The Principal said that Mamta Devi secured the fourth position, Anju Devi and Seema Devi were positioned sixth and seventh and Priyanka was placed 12th.
