Rewari: The investiture ceremony of the newly selected school prefects was held on Wednesday at Sainik School in Rewari. Soumyabrata Dhar, principal of the school, graced the ceremony as the chief guest along with Lt Sumit Kumar, an alumnus of the school. S Dhar; vice-principal Sunaina Chahar, administration officer Avinash Singh, Senior Master GS Chauhan and other house masters, piped the school prefects. Later, the principal administered the oath.
Three-day training programme
Kurukshetra: “Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is one of the major programmes of the Ministry of Human Resource Development designed to enrich rural areas of India. Its main objective is to build an educated, capable, healthy, prosperous and self-reliant India,” said Prof Virender Kumar Vijay, national coordinator, UBA. He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the three-day training programme on “Residential master instructors in community based participatory research (CBPR)” under UBA 2.0 sponsored by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, and Northern Regional Centre of Kurukshetra University, in the Senate Hall of Kurukshetra University on Tuesday.
Connecting with nature through Yoga
Faridabad: The Vice-Chancellor of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Professor SK Tomar, has urged the students to dedicate themselves for selfless service to nature and environment. Also, he asked them to adopt yoga as their way of life. Addressing a programme as part of a month-long plantation campaign carried out by the university, Tomar said yoga could be instrumental in improving lifestyle. Yogacharya Sunil Gupta, the chief guest on this occasion, said the practice of yoga cultivated a sense of unity between the mind, body and the surrounding environment. He offered free yoga sessions for students. The university is celebrating July as ‘Hariyali Parv’ and to mark this occasion, a mega plantation campaign has been initiated. Eminent personalities from all walks of life are being invited to participate in the plantation campaign.
