New Delhi, July 19

The Congress today demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and a High Court monitored probe in the killing of DSP Surender Singh.

Jairam Ramesh, MP, condemned the murder and said the law and order situation had collapsed in the state.

“The illegal mining mafia, thriving under government protection, now feel so emboldened that they killed a DSP of the Haryana Police by mowing him down under a dumper in Taoru of Nuh district. This shocking incident is one more example of completely shattered law and order situation in Haryana, where criminals have a free run and people of the state are forced to live in constant fear of these criminals,” Jairam said.

“The CM no longer holds any moral right to remain in his post and should resign,” Jairam said. — TNS

No action against mining mafia

Criminals have no fear, while people live in fear in the state. Neither the common man is safe, nor policemen. Despite repeated demands, the state government has not taken any action against the mining mafia. Bhupinder Hooda, ex-CM

Jungle raj from Y’nagar to Nuh

There is jungle raj of mining mafia in the state. The loot is going on with the collaboration of the mafia and the Khattar-Dushyant govt. We demand that the HC Chief Justice or a Judge should probe the matter. Randeep Surjewala, Rajya Sabha MP

Loot of Rs 50,000 cr

I condemn the incident. Illegal mining has been increasing in the state. In 2018, the CAG had pointed out a Rs 5,000-crore scam in the mining sector. There is a loot of about Rs Rs 50,000 crore. Dr Sushil Gupta, AAP MP

Stern action will be taken

Stern action will be taken against the killer. I have issued orders for the arrest of the culprits. No guilty will be spared. We will engage the police task force of surrounding districts as well if need be. Anil Vij, Home and Health Minister
