The list of development works carried out in the constituencies of various MLAs under the provision of Rs 5-crore allocation in their names would be made available to them in seven days.

This was stated by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar after some Congress MLAs complained that development works were not being carried out in their constituencies, despite their recommendation.

The issue came up during Question Hour when Congress MLA Surender Panwar sought to know the amount released for the Sonepat Assembly constituency.

As he was joined by other Congress MLAs in seeking clarification on fund use and the fate of their recommendations, Khattar said, “Some MLAs raise questions in the House that they have not received an annual amount of Rs 5 crore. It is not an annual grant, but is given to an MLA once in his 5-year tenure.”

Hitting out at the protesting MLAs, Khattar said there were four-five MLAs who, instead of sharing the list of the development work they want to get done, make noise in the House for not getting the said amount.

“They have been asked to provide a list, but have not done so. The list with complete details of the amount along with the works will be provided to every MLA in the next seven days. If there are works pending due to balance payments, the same will be immediately released,” he said.

Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal raised the issue of the poor condition of internal roads in Jhajjar even as Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said the road condition was “satisfactory”.

To this, Bhukkal produced pictures of the slushy pot-holed roads and demanded action against those responsible for misleading the minister and the House.
