A day after the arrest of two suspects — Ashish and Sachin of Delhi — in the murder case of INLD state chief Nafe Singh Rathi, the district police today took them to Barahi level crossing in Bahadurgarh area for the demarcation of spots.

“During the process, the suspects demarcated the spots on the road where they had parked their i20 car before committing the crime and where they found the SUV of Nafe Singh Rathi waiting for the level crossing to open. They also told the police how they perpetrated the crime and escaped from the spot,” police sources said.

Sources said the suspects were chasing Rathi’s SUV in the car. They parked the car at some distance from the crime spot after turning its face towards the opposite side so that they could flee on the same route from which they had come. After parking the car, they came to Rathi sitting on the front seat of the SUV and said ‘Ram Ram’ before shooting him, the sources added.

“After the crime, the suspects reached Rewari via Sonepat and Gurugram where they parked the car outside the railway station to catch a train to reach Ahmedabad (Gujarat). After spending some time there, they went to Mumbai and later travelled to Goa from where they were arrested from a hotel under the Anjuna police station area,” said the sources, adding the suspects demarcated the escape route also.

Jhajjar SP Dr Arpit Jain said they had got some vital information during their police remand. “Since the investigation is underway, the information cannot be shared with media at this stage. Efforts are on to arrest the two other suspects — Atul of Delhi and Deepak Sangwan alias Nakul of Narnaul,” he said.

Jain said they had not got any reply from Facebook and Instagram about the verification of a social media post uploaded in the name of notorious criminal Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, claiming responsibility for the murder. “We have sent a reminder to the authorities of both the social media platforms,” the SP added.
