As many as 14 police personnel at the India Reserve Batallion (IRB) at Bangarh village of Una district and seven health workers at the Civil Hospital, Gagret, have tested Covid positive.
In all, 81 new cases were reported in Una district on the basis of report received late Monday evening. The cause for concern for the district administration is that the positivity rate in the district has reached 8.56 per cent
In view of rising Covid cases in Una district, Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma today notified the imposition of restrictions. All shops, except those selling vegetables, fruits, dairy and medicines, would remain open till 6.30 pm on weekdays and remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays till January 24.
The orders would not be applicable to hotels, while restaurants and dhabas would remain functional with 50 per cent seating capacity till 10 pm. The timings of the liquor vends would be decided by the Excise and Taxation Department. Shopkeepers would have to arrange hand sanitisers for customers.
According to a press note quoting the Deputy Commissioner, the RTO has been given the responsibility to check Covid protocols in buses, while the General Manager of the Una depot would ensure adherence of the standard-operating procedures at bus stands.
The District Food and Civil Supplies Officer would check eating joints, while the General Manager of the Una Industries Centre would ensure social norms were followed in industrial units. All SDMs, tehsildars and BDOs have been authorised to inspect private functions and ceremonies.—OC
