Chandigarh-Manali highway blocked following landslide in Mandi

The Chandigarh-Manali highway has been blocked for traffic movement near Dwada in Mandi district on Saturday morning as massive landslide was reported in the region.

As a result, a large number of vehicles have been stuck in long queues on both sides of the road — either coming to Mandi from Kullu or going to Kullu from Mandi.

The Mandi district administration has engaged its workforce and machinery in the region to clear the debris but said it would take time to restore the traffic movement on the highway.

As a precautionary measure, the police have stopped traffic on the highway until it will be restored for traffic movement.
