Chandigarh, June 29

HPCC working president and Sujanpur MLA Rajinder Rana today accused the state government of misleading the youth on the ‘Agnipath’ scheme.

Rana, while addressing reporters here, said the government was going to lose the forthcoming Assembly elections. “Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has said he will give jobs to Agniveers. I want to ask the government when it failed to give jobs to lakhs of employed youths as well as ex-servicemen, how will it give jobs to Agniveers?,” he said.

Rana accused the government of corruption. “The paper leak scam is worth Rs 100 crore. The government under pressure announced to hand over the case to the CBI, but even after three months nothing has happened”.

He also raked up the issue of fake degrees allegedly sold by a private university.

“The government is protecting the accused in the fake degree case. The accused was previously involved in other frauds. The accused has got bail. The case should be transferred to the CBI,” he said.

Rana said, “Outsourced employees have been protesting for their basic rights and have no job security. If the Congress forms government, we will take care of their interests,” he said.
