As the government is preparing to partially open some services from tomorrow, plumbers, electricians, AC mechanics and other service providers lined up outside the DC office in Una for curfew permits today.
Kangra DC Rakesh Prajapati appealed to people to maintain social distancing while going to public places during curfew relaxation. During this period, only one person of a family should go outside.
He said as per directions of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Chief Secretary of Himachal, grocery shops or stores selling foodgrain, groceries, milk, bread, fruit, vegetables, dairy products, poultry, meat, fish, eggs, animal feed and fodder, chemist shops, medical equipment stores, fair price shops, shops relating to services provided by self-employed persons like electricians, plumbers and carpenters may open from 8 to 11 am daily from April 20 in Kangra and Una districts. Computer repair shops and book shops would remain open from 8 to 11 am on Monday and Thursday every week.
The DC said auto, truck, tractor repair and welding shops and agriculture implement repair shops would remain open from 8 am to 2 pm daily. The movement of public for availing these services would be allowed between 8 am to 11 am and only one person of a family would go out. Under no circumstances, four or more persons would be allowed to assemble, he said.
The DC said it was compulsory for all shopkeepers to make separate marking on the floor inside and in front of their shops.Banks, ATMs and farming activities would continue except in the containment zones.
The other services that would resume functioning include insurance companies, brick-kilns in rural areas, operation of fishing, aqua-culture industry, including feeding and maintenance, harvesting, processing, packaging and cold chain, courier services with permitted vehicles, home delivery of food items.
