Shimla, June 30

Curfew will remain in force from 9 pm to 5 am in the state, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police through video-conferencing from Shimla today.

He said the government had asked the Centre to allow the state to regulate the movement of people entering Himachal Pradesh from other states to contain the spread of the Covid pandemic.

The mechanism of institutional and home quarantine would be strengthened. The state government would regulate the influx of people entering the state so as to ensure their orderly movement and avoid any possible chance of spread of Covid cases.

Thakur asked the Deputy Commissioners to prepare a list of various projects completed in their districts so that these could be inaugurated online. He also asked them to submit a list of projects for which foundation stones could be laid online.

He said since the apple season was round the corner, DCs must ensure adequate arrangements of labour and smooth transportation of the produce to markets. All preventive measures must be taken for minimising the losses to the properties during the monsoon.

Due to the pandemic, it was not possible for him to visit district headquarters for interaction with beneficiaries. Therefore, DCs must prepare a mechanism so that he could address the beneficiaries through video-conferencing.

Chief Secretary Anil Khachi said the situation in the state was well under control.

Influx of visitors to be checked

The mechanism of institutional and home quarantine would be strengthened. The state government will regulate the influx of people entering the state so as to ensure their orderly movement and avoid any possible chance of spread of Covid cases.
