Stones carrying Dhumal’s name changed: Suresh Kashyap

The foundation stones carrying the name of the former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal were changed after the Congress came to power, said BJP state president Suresh Kashyap.

Taking a dig at Congress leaders, Kashyap said that the Congress had set a dubious example by changing the locations of development projects, which led to increase in the cost of projects.

In a press note issued here today, he said the Atal tunnel is another feather in the cap of Himachal Pradesh which would kick-start a new era of development in Lahual and Spiti. The tunnel was the dream of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which has been realised with its inauguration on October 3. The tunnel would boost tourism in the state. “It is a landmark achievement but the Congress is leaving no stone unturned to spoil the atmosphere,” he added.

Kashyap said that the e-vistark programme of the party had been successful and 100 per cent workers had been verified in the Hamirpur and Mandi parliamentary constituencies while verification was in progress in other two parliament constituencies.
