The famous Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar was sanctioned Rs 40.46 crore by the Central Government under the Tourism Ministry’s PRASAD scheme in 2016-17 for development works. Over Rs 32 crore has been released so far, Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday while answering a starred question.

According to Reddy, Rs 1,323.16 crore has been sanctioned so far for 24 states under the PRASAD scheme and Rs 798.19 crore has been released. Rs 31.57 crore was sanctioned for development of Chamkaur Sahib in Ropar in 2021-22 and Rs 6.40 crore sanctioned in 2015-16 for development of Karuna Sagar Valmiki Sthal at Amritsar.
