Presenting satirical definitions of the social issues existing in the society, Satwinder Beghowalia, a Punjabi writer and dramatist released his new book, ‘Main Punjaban Han’, here at an event.

The book is a compilation of four dramas projected towards every corners of the society. The book includes four dramas—‘Main Punjaban Han’, ‘Kalamkar’, ‘ Bappu da Veda’ and ‘Baba Bakala. Through Kalamkar the writer has depicted the significance of a writer's creation and how it help to shape the young minds and ‘Bappu da Vehda’ is a story about father-son relations.

It criticises the inclination of children towards modernisation. Here, one of the lead characters moves to the city to change his life and leaves his parents back in the village. After few years his son does the same with him, he realises his mistakes and moves back to his ancestral house that was built by his father.

‘Baba Bakala’ is a religious play and ‘Main Punjaban Han’ is a story about a girl whose family had migrated from Himachal. Over the years, after spending her growing years in Punjab, she identifies herself as a proud ‘Panjaban’.

Writer and drama professor Satish Kumar Verma, termed the book as a new revolution in the field of Punjabi write-ups and honoured Beghowalia as the 4th generation Playwriter.

For his book ‘ Dollar Mera Puttar’, Satinder Singh Beghowalia has also been awarded IS Nanda, a Punjabi literature award.
